Diana Ballinger inherited $87 million from her late husband, Martin Ballinger, a key figure in the founding of the UK's Go Ahead Group, Forbes reports.
The company, which operates a network of buses in the UK, is valued at more than $600 million.
The company's evolution from a regional bus firm to a publicly listed enterprise "is a testament to innovative leadership and strategic business acumen," financial analyst Micajah McGregor writes.
Ballinger's 34 million stake is "a considerable part of her net worth and indicates a savvy investment approach," McGregor writes.
The rest of her net worth is in her family's Ballinger Charitable Trust, which "reflects their commitment to social responsibility but also plays a role in their overall financial strategy, potentially offering tax advantages and enhancing their public image," McGregor writes.
